Nicely done! I like the look of knotty pine and have done a bit of work with it myself. I prefer to use hardwoods but the cost is too high in my area. Your project shows how good this stuff can look.

I think that looks great. What finish are you going to use? I did a project a while back and used orange shelac and it looked great.

                    Very nice.

I've only made a couple of small projects out of pine. It works easily, but is also easily damaged and prone to movement.

If I was to make a piece that large out of pine it would surely have a lot of 'character' in the form of dings and scrapes.

                    Well done.

                      Morning grits...

I am currently replacing a kithchen table that was made from knotty pine scraps 25 years ago with a white oak country kitchen table. Hidden under 3 coats of poly, with kids banging the handles of forks and spoons on the surface (ala prison protest style), frequent spills and other abuses, the table has held up rather well. Enough that it will be given to a son who will hopefully find it useful for another 25 years and pass it on.

Most of my first projects from 35 years ago were knotty pine from a what I could afford then stand-point but more from I just like knotty pine. Knotty pine paneling was a rage down south back in the 50's and early sixties and can still be seen from homes dated from that period.

Extremely well executed piece done in what appears to be a very spacious shop with a wood considered sub-par by some, but held in very high esteem by others that see the beauty and value of simplicity itself.

A suggestion for the benefit of those that agree and your work could be purchased would be for you to post your location in case someone viewing here might be local to you and want to do so. Your web-site doesn't give your location or I missed it. Even though for those that have been around the block a few times, "ole Sarge" got a "radar lock" from the web-site name. :>)

In the spirit of "joie de vivre", keep up the fine work you have displayed on your site my friend..
