Quarter sawn oak, an arts & crafts style but more about the wine box labels
I made the legs with two layers of 4/4 and veneered the sides to hide the layers. I cut my own veneers with my 10" Craftsman band saw (newer Rikon style) and then sanded them to finish thickness on my Ridgid sander using the oscillating belt and a jig that acts like a pressure plate (makes a mini drum sander). Got the veneers down to an even 3/64". Used the same setup to make the 1/4" thick slats for the tray. Some friends asked me to make this for them so it is actually my first commission. Now I can buy some better blades for the band saw.
I've been hanging out here for a while now (Since I bought my BT3100 two+ years ago) and besides sending me off to too many bargains, you have all taught me quite a bit - Thanks!
