    Child's Dresser

Hey all. Just finished another project and thought I would share. The plans came from Wood Magazine. It's about 4 feet tall has 5 drawers all 8 inches deep, and the cabinet carcass is about 18" deep x 45" tall x 30" wide. I used General Finishes Light Oak for the color and Waterlox Original for the varnish. If I were to do it again, I would have chosen a water based poly topcoat in order to not add a yellow hue to the color. All of the hardware came from custom service hardware which you can find on the web. I hope you enjoy the pictures.

    And next.

    One more.

Very nice looking dresser. Something that will be in the family for years I am sure.

looks really nice! i see that you have used a good set of rails for the drawer slides, those should really last a long time. what wood did you make the drawers? and did you dove tail them?

Thanks for all of the kind words guys. I'm very satisfied with the results. The drawer boxes are nothing more than china birch from HD and therefore are only rabbet and groove joined. I've only done dovetails once and will eventually get around to doing it again but for projects which have a predetermined need I look at speed of construction when evaluating plans.
