    Wreath for Advent 2006

Finished this for our congregation this year. Started out life as a replacement to one whose means of attachment to the central pedestal got irreversably damaged during a spring event.

Ring is 30" in diameter and 3" in width, constructed from a double layer of 3/4 inch walnut, segmented 12 pieces to the circle. It sits on the pedestal at a 10º angle so that the candles are more easily seen by all in the congregation. The "holly leaves" are maple, scrollsawn, woodburned, and stained to be abstract renditions of leaves. The candle pots are 5 inches across with a 1 inch recess for the 3x10 candles.

Dean that is gorgeous and how special it must be to know that not only you but members of your congregation for years to come will enjoy and worship around it. I know you are proud and you have a right to be

That is very nice. It must make you feel good to know it will be used for years to come.

Nice job, Dean. I agree with the others: that should serve the faithful for many years! You should be very proud.
