Oak End Table & Curly Maple / Walnut Table

Here are two tables I have made in the past.

The end table is the required project for my students in advanced woodworking 1. The table in the pictures was the one I built along with my class as an example for them. My signature to my work is the walnut layed into the project...in this on it is the miters and top glass frame. I also tried wrapping the outside edge of the top in quarter sawen oak to give some contrast...I don't know if you can tell or not.

I made the coffee table while I was still taking classes at Western Michigan University. as you can see I have done the walnut for the miters. this table is actually designed to be RTA (ready to assemble) the leg rails are held in place by a unlockable joint and the top sits on the legs (gravity helps keep it there).

    More projects to come soon....

Those are really nicely done Jeff. I love the walnut miters in the coffee table.

They are both beautiful, but that coffee table is OUTSTANDING! The corner detailing is a work of art.

The coffee table is a bit on the 'modern' side for my tastes, but those are both some fantastic pieces! The inlays really set them off.

Nice work Jeff. That is a handsome piece that little end table and the oak really sets that coffee table off. Nicely done.

Well done Jeff.. The contrast is quite be-holding. And... if you enlarge your scale and make one bigger.. you may be on to the world's most artistic "ping pong" table.. Just kiddin of course! :>)

And yeah.. my wife definitely thinks that my thoughts stray somewhat outside the box on occasion. ha.. ha...

              Regards and again.. well done

Lovely work, a bit sick perhaps. Oddly (I think) the inlays don't scare me, just that many miters on a project. ;-)

The coffee table is amazing, love that walnut inlay. what kind of wood did you use on the coffee table? is it maple? i am not that familiar with wood types yet.

by the way, what is your location? you should enter it in the profile page... just a suggestion.

cant wait to see some more of your projects! happy new year.
