    The COCONUT EXPRESS is........

.......complete and ready for delivery! Yes, I still "play" in the shop when I'm not playing with the model helos.

This toy box has been built for my grandson, Tavish (just turned 2). I used plans purchased from Miesel Hardware. This was with out a doubt, the most complex project undertaken to date. Lot's of circles and even more bevels to cut! The parts count was huge on this project. Each wheel and bumper assembly had 37 pieces. I used just about every tool in the shop to complete this one with my trusty BT3 and Grizz bandsaw getting a REAL workout. Plywood and poplar were used through out with a few pieces of pine and red oak thrown in for good measure.

LOML had the hardest job; she had to paint it! The colors match the colors in Tavy's room. His mom gave his room a topical island motiff, hence the COCONUT EXPRESS! Belinda and I could not agree on the final decoration scheme so we decided to let Tavy's mom (the artist in the family) figure it out (we also simply ran out of time)!

Thanks for looking! This was a very challenging project as well as a very rewarding one. I'll find out in a few days what Tavy thinks !

I delivered the toy box today 12-28-06, and the responce was everything I hoped it would be! The hug I got made this a VERY worthwhile project!

Whoa. Kick A$$ job Larry. And to think, when I was little all my junk was stored in an oversized duffle bag.

Not only will your grandson have an awsome place to store his stuff, his friends are going to be so jealous. .....And there you'll be, beaming with a smile, when he tells 'em "Grandpa made it for me". Nice job.
