    Mirrored Bedroom Cabinets

This wall unit was done in clear mirror on all doors and end, and bronze mirror on the toe kick and a 3" x 3" horizontal reveal in the middle. Edges of the doors were done with chrome formica. Unit is about 10' long. Openings housed TV, VCR, and drawers (made of maple) The inside was done in gloss white formica.

Funny story about this unit. I surprised the designer with a "secret compartment" which was under the floor of one of the base cabinets in the toe kick area, that locked. Some time after installation, she and her husband went on vacation, and the house was robbed. Luckily she had all her papers and jewelry in there. But, she called me to come and unlock the compartment because the thief had taken her house keys and that included the key to the "secret compartment".

I learned early on to keep an extra key on tap for any lock installed. It is a great habit to get into. For my personal locks though, I put them in a place where I can find them. Sometimes I can't remember where that is.

LOL! Me too. Have a box full of keys that I can't remember what for, and locks that none of them fit!

SWEEET! I hope that this job netted you a bundle! Did you install the glass work yourself?

In the beginning, was farming out the glass and mirror work. Cutting glass and mirror is no magic trick. Started to do all my own shelves and mirror work to save time, money and was more accurate. Any problems (scratches, cracks, and bad edges) I could take care of right away instead of waiting for the glass shop.
