    Reuleaux Table

The plans for this table were taken from Woodwork #100 August 2006 from the article "A Very Occasional Table". I modified the shape of the table. The shape of the top is a Reuleaux Triangle:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reuleaux_triangle

The top and legs are mahogany and the edging and stretchers are walnut. The stretchers are bent laminations. The curvature of the stretchers are the same as the top. The real trick was mitering and cutting tenons for the stretchers so that the joints were tight and the legs formed an isosceles triangle.

That looks better than tables I've seen in furniture stores. Outstanding job on the legs.

That is first class work there. WOW! Beautiful little table and that finish is the nicest I've seen.

That is a beautiful table. Before I read the wikipedia link I looked at the table and thought it looked like the rotor in the Mazda rotary engine cars. Are the curved legs laminated or sawn?

I like the table alot. I have been wanting to do something needing bent laminations.
