    First Project in 18 years

    Hi All,

I have been lurking around since I purchased my BT3100 a while ago. Finally I have had some time to build something rather than make wonderful piles of dust. It feels good finally get a decent build under my belt. Granted I still have a ton to learn, but it still feels good to be able to make something useful.

    Tell me what you think.

Very nice. Is that something for use in the mud room?

Yes, It's going in our entry way. My wife wanted a place to sit while she takes off her shoes. We found some baskets at Ikea to place in the three holes... but I didn't take into account the depth of the dado cuts so now the baskets are a smidge too big. Hopefully a night of sanding on the top and bottom will give me enough room to slide 'em in without weakening the joint too much.

        Thanks for taking a look.

Pretty nice bench. I'd just find some baskets that will fit and not go into heavy sanding. Pat

Very nice. There's just something about a project done in pine.

Nice work. But if you ask me, it looks like practice for a mobile BT3K workstation.

CGallery, I like the way you think! Since my shop is still very rough around the edges, I need a home for my dado blades, saw blade, miter fence, and future jigs... A "chassis" for the saw would be a great next project.

It looks like my Wife doesn't like the pine look. She wants to paint it with Behr "Rich Mahagony". It's a deep purple-brownish color. So I guess my project is not done yet.

Well your part is done unless you have to also paint it. I like it and hopefully my husband (Blackwallnut) will like it also and we can make something like that for around our house.
