The LOML wanted a table that the generator could be stored under in the garage. I have a bunch of scrap wood I got from the Lumber Liquidators wood workers pack. So over the entire table cost about a buck to make and she seems pleased. I finished it with just a basic rag on tung oil. The skirt is attached to the legs with a MT joint, not my best work but it was my first attempt at MT joints. Luckily the joints are hidden out of site, but they appear to be fairly strong. The top was made out of about 6 piece all jointed and planed, the new grizzly G0452 6" Jointer got a good workout.

Generator tables don't get classier than that. Great looking. Look at the experience you got. Too bad it has to live in the garage.

I agree a 100% I would find a place inside the house for that instead of the garage. Excellent job on the table, it looks awesome!! I did not realize you can build stuff like that out of the lumber pack from lumber liquidators.. I might just check them out.Chris

Looks great! What kind of wood species did you use? Appears to be maybe cherry and hickory, just a guess from the pics?
KimMeasure it with a micrometer...
Mark it with a crayon...
Cut it with a chain saw!

Yeah, much to nice looking to be kept in the garage. That needs to go in the house and you need to try agian for a garage table.
By the way, that top is beautiful.Larry R. Rogers

Thanks guys. I really have no idea what the wood species are. I did not know what they were going to look like until I started the jointing process. The pack cost me about $50 and I ended up through away about 33% of the wood because it was simply unusable. Out of the remaining wood I would say 25% is in excellent condition and the remainder is useable after allot of work which is one of the reason I was using it for a garage table. Just happened to clean up real nice.I love lamp.Comment
