Small Crib (port-a-crib size) and Occupant.

I recently posted a thread about a bed I had made for my son. http://www.bt3central.com/showthread.php?t=24058

This is the matching crib, with all the same details. Laminated maple flooring, ipswitch pine stain, 2 coats of poly to finish.
The new occupant showed up on Friday and seems to enjoy his new bed, although not much time has been spent in it. But he sure is cute eh?

A few more pictures and details can be found here. http://home.comcast.net/~0fficeboy/w...rib/index.html

When I posted on your bed thread, I forgot to mention how cool the box joints were. I see that you used it for this project, too. Very nice!

Now there's not enough space on this forum for my positive comments on that little one.

            Congratulations! Nice job on both!

Doesn't the laminated maple flooring only come finishes on one side? I thought the 2nd side was typically MDF or something. Can you describe the material you used?

BTW, both the crib and kid look great!

                Thanks!

Very nice joinery there - you can't see the seams at all! Oh, and the crib looks nice too.

It is solid unfinished hardwood flooring. "Laminated" in that it's glued together in layers to achieve the desired thickness. Not "laminate flooring".

                      And Thanks!

Great work on the crib. Baby seems to like it. It's going to be one of those heirlooms.
