    My Latest

Thought you might like to see my latest project. My new DIL asked for this for the wedding, I'm only a couple of weeks late. It's a TV stand with storage, exactly as she described it to me, to include the pine. I tried to talk her into something in hardwood, as opposed to the soft pine, but she was adamant about it.

The design is my own, it's finished with four coats of Minwax Poly with the exception of the top--six coats--did not want it to easily scratch. Tried to find water-based to keep the finish clearer, but decided I could not stand the extra cost of the water-based variety.

Anyway, I enjoyed this project immensely. Next project is a large stand for the BT3 with storage and outfeed, followed soon by a prototype for the kitchen cabinets I have been promising LOML.

What a sweet cabinet! I especially like the treatment around the feet and the stretchers. Beautiful design, beautiful implementation.

Very nice. That'll see a lot of enjoyment. She should be proud of that wedding present, late or not.

That piece looks great. And a great looking design too.

I've only built a couple of things out of pine, and not complicated projects at that. I'm always amazed at what some folks on this forum produce using pine, considering how soft it is and prone to movement.

Very nicely done. I know she will just love it.

Thanks for all of your kind words. I really enjoyed the project, got to stretch my abilities a bit, doing a few things I had never done before. First time gluing up large (bigger than 24x24) panels, first raised panels, first glass door, and a few other things.

The folks on this board are fantastic, I really appreciate the positive comments from everyone--never a snide remark, never sniping at others work. Thanks for all of your quiet support.
