I don't know alot about the more desirable woods, but AFAIK mahogany is a good choice for body or neck, and swamp ash and koa are desirable for the body. There are many that are alder too. I'm sure that some are better than others, but I'm not sure it's critical enough where you should avoid a nice piece of hardwood that you have in your inventory. Some of the experts could probably guide you better than me....Looks good. Any particular things to look for in the wood for the body? I had an old arbor V and my son has an elcheapo BC Rich that he never touches. I was never to good but had a few friends that were awsome. One has a recording studio and tours with old 80s bands like Ratt.Happiness is sort of like wetting your pants....everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warmth.

We use poplar, ash, mohogany, alder, and bass as sound woods in our guitar/bass bodies. we use some others as a veneer top but it's only for looks. we use maple and rosewood for our necks and fretboards.Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work. - Thomas EdisonComment
