    Couple of garden projects

Due to some unfortunate events, I have not done much around my shop this summer (or the house for that matter) but I finally managed to finish these 2 projects that I had started earlier in the year!!

The first one is a small Garden bench for my sister-in-law (christmas present from last year . The design is from Wood Magazine and is made from Eastern White Cedar.

The second project is a Garden screen that I made for our own house. The design is based on a few pictures that my wife had found and again it is made of Cedar. Each panel is 2' wide and 6' tall. I may still attach all three panels together with some kind of hinges.

One last picture showing both the bench and the screen (just before the bench being taken away!!

Now back to the shop and my next left over project (a Tool Cart). Thanks for looking.

They compliment each other so well that I think you should make a bench for yourself.

Both projects are lovely and well done. I agree with Pappy - you and your wife need a bench to go with your screen!

Awesome job on both, but the screen is my favorite!

Glad I'm looking at this at work; if LOML looked over my shoulder the "to-do" list would grow again.

                      Thanks everyone.

MilDoc, No problem but you have to wait for awhile

Pappy, Karen, My wife says the same thing! But with my speed, it probably be several years before we can sit down

Ken, I cannot do that. My SIL and her husband (and their son) have guns!!! Beside they are going to give me some air dried Cherry wood.

Great looking pieces, go very well with eachother. What did you use for a finish?

                            Thanks Guys!

For the past 3 years I have been using CIL (Canadian brand?) "Semi Transparent Oil Stain" in natural Cedar and have had good results with it (have to be very very careful with the first coat to get an even colour). On the can it says for decks and fences so I have used it on all my outdoor projects! These two have 4 coats!!!
