    Latest Project...

Hello all, I am new here. This is my first flatwork project in awhile as I bought a mini lathe back in January and have been enjoying it alot since. I love to make boxes and am still exploring alot of what box making has to offer. Anyway, this is a box I made to store my good pens that I use at work. These I have also turned. I wanted a modern looking box that mimicked the syle of my desk so I put a rebate on the bottom as my desk has the same thing to give it a floating look. Anyway, it is walnut with a figured maple top and walnut lid knob. The finish is a tung oil varish home brew. Thanks for looking and I am looking forward to being a member here.

    Very Nice!

    Very Nice Work!
Seems a shame to hide it in an office.

I must be 'challanged' more than usual today ... I don't see a picture of the box?

Excellent work! I can't decide which I like better, the box or the pens.

Both the box and pens are great. I too like making boxes and turning pens but I hadn't thought of making a box for the pens. Thanks for the idea
