    My first project!!!

    I finished my first project. It is an elevated dog feeder. I am pleased with how it turned out. Having seen all the amazing woodworking on this site inspires me to continue to improve my skills. I also want to thank Ken Massingale for his suggestion for the finish. This site is the best out there.

      A great looking feeder. What kind of wood (looks like oak). I'm making sure my dogs aren't looking at the screen.

                  Great work. The reveals on the top and rails add to the finished look.

                  For your first project, what kind of joinery did you use to attach the rails?

                      Very nice - you sure did a great job. Your dog's must be fairly big - my 2 little ones would need a stepladder to get up there for a drink of water!

                                  I was able to find steel bowls with a large lip. I used a jigsaw to cut out the holes. Because the bowls taper a little, I found that stick on window weatherstripping keeps the bowls from moving.
