Here is me first ever ww project...

    Hi folks,

Inspired by this forum and friends, I joined a ww class in a local community college, and built this:

Do you guys think I have some promise ;?)
Before this, I had no clue what ww stood for, leave alone ww-machines and tools ;!)
'am no longer scared going near these digit-hungry machines!

Thanks for all the knowledge you all share!
    /venkat
PS: Got me an A for this 32-class/128hr effort...

Clean lines and purportions as well as good tight joints. You should be proud.

Well done, Venkat! Having just done some simple-minded cabinet work, I have a fresh appreciation for those good tight joints Pappy mentions. I would have chosen simpler knobs, however, more in tune with the classic forms of the woodworking. Maybe wooden ones?

I did realize that once I took those hand-pulls to class... but was too late - for the last day of class :-) The reason I chose them was that HD had only these in Copper, and tho the pixs don't do justice to the pine, there is quite a lot of mild-pink (matching the copper) colorations in the wood, especially around the birds-eyes in the rails :!)

May be would replace them with round copper knobs, when I find them.
My kids already stole it :-(

Nicely done, Venkat! I agree with Pappy, the proportion are very nice.

How did you do the joinery?

Hey, Venkat - that's a great-looking piece - using quite a few varied and precise techniques. The top looks to be very well joined, the routed profiles are very crisp and clean and - as already said - the joints are very tight.

Of course your kids stole it - that in itself is a great compliment - well done!

                          Ray.
