    Kitchen update

The work on the kitchen has continued, although work has been slow this spring, I've been outside a lot. I should be back to the kitchen some this week, most of the outdoor projects are pretty much done for now.

I finished up shelves that go between the wall cabinets, one over the fridge, the other a long one that goes over 2 windows, 3 doors, and the sink. There are some puck lights in it to light over the sink.

I have also basically finished the first section of the countertop. Black granite tile, oak edging stained and finished to match the cabinets.

Looks great, Jim. I like the open shelf idea...May have to 'borrow' it!

Very nice. I like that open shelf too, but with the cats, nothing would be safe on it.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

                Larry,

So far, none of the 4 cats have made it to the shelves. Better not give them any ideas, though.

                Pappy,
Isn't "borrowing" ideas half of what this forum is about?

Very nice work. I like the open shelving idea also. I may suggest it to LOML - we only have dogs so no worries there.

                    Jim,

Looks nice. I made new cabinets for our last house but haven't decided to tackle this one yet. I also made cabinets as few as possible at a time due to limited shop space. The ones I made were oak also but different than yours. No face frame on mine with oak raised panel doors covering the whole front. I like the look of yours however. Our current kitchen has granite tile with an oak edge done by the builder. It works well for us.
