    BT mobile cabinet

Heres a few pictures of my first cabinet.

The base is a 2x4 frame with 2 sheets of 3/4 ply inlayed.
The sides, rear & drawer faces are 3/4 ply with the drawers themselfs madeup of 1/2" ply. the edging trim and drawer handles are made from 5/4 mahagany with the vertical mahagany bisketed to the ply.
In building this i found using a 3/8" forstner bit worked quite well for a pocket hole followed by a pilot hole witch in a few places (drawers, center support)
On the right side the vertical mahagany supports the bt rails & will be used for support for any additions. The rail will slide over the supports.

I was leary about not having the drawers un-uniform but decided to size the drawers to spefic tools that they would be used for. plam sander, belt sander, router base, screws , drill drillbits , router bits ect....

I got the wood from a local yard with the ply being seconds,5/4 10.00 for 10',wheels from HF,drawer rails from lowes, coated with antique minwax. An overall cost @140.00.

Its much easier to start at the bottom and work your way up but in this case I had to start at both ends and work toward the middle. As I wanted rail support and may add a rail track slide for the bottom of the rails. Which will fit in the underside T-slot.

Good looking cabinet. I don't see any locks on the casters. How are you going to block it?

Some day when I get really motivated, I'd like to make a cabinet like that for my BT. For now, too many other things to do.

Yours looks great. Sure you'll enjoy it

Are you sure you to put that out in the shop? I think it would look more at home in the living room. Very nice job.

Good Job! I'm sure you will get a lot of use from it and the storage for tools is great to have.

Thanks for all the complements and feedback. I am finishing getting the BT mounted and should be able to post some pictures tomorrow.

Pappy, As for locking the wheels I'll be using a lenght of board behind the front wheels unless i can come up with another idea. It really does not move to easily with so much weight, takes a little power to get it movin.

BT coming to life from a rest.

Heres several pictures of the BT mounted to the cabinet with close to the same footprint as the rails

The rails are mounded to the right, leaving i hope easy support for rail extention.

I may build a router table later on the cabinet

                              jlake,
I really like the profile. I think I am going to use some of your ideas when I get started on my cabinet. I really like the storage area for the SMT.

                              GREAT JOB!!
