    Trinket Box

This is my first result from an Incra Pro jig. They call the joint a Double-Double Boxjoint.
Well, originally the box was bigger, but 2 'learning experiences' caused it to get smaller.
It ended up around 8 by 6 and 3 1/4" high. It's made of Cherry, Walnut, Cocobolo and Sassafras.
I used Sassafras and Walnut in the double joints, I'm thinking now that I should have used Cherry instead of the Sassy. The top is a Cocobolo frame chamfered on all corners with a 1/8" thick Walnut panel. The Walnut panel has some nice curl that doesn't show in my bad pics.
The finish is 3 coats of satin Waterlox, buffed with 0000 steelwool between coats.

And I thought that was only for magazine advertisements. Great looking! We are expecting greater things from you now, Ken!

That looks GREAT! You mention that it was originally meant to be bigger...I had to laugh because I know that if I tried making a blanket chest with joints like that, it would likely end up a "trinket box"

Those joints are just really sharp! Really decorated the box well.

Please give us a little more details on your experience. I have to say that the joints are beautiful and the box is very nice.
The results are outstanding for a first time try compared to the results that many of us have using a half blind dovetail jig. I mean my first dove tail, or maybe all of them, look like I am half blind! Your results for a first timer seem amazing.
Sooooo.... how long did that take. What was the learing curve? What do you think of the whole set up? I love my Incra Miter gauge and believe they make a wonderful product. Has this one meet your expectations? The price Rockler has on this thing seems very reasonable considering the price/value of some of the other Incra items.
