    High School Graduation present

To make a short story long.... In pre-PC times the H.S. where my nephews and BIL graduated and are graduating from had a tradition of "Senior Paddles" Name, grad year etc either burned or ingraved. Of course now they are considered weapons of mass destruction and are no longer allowed and can't be had through the school. Sis wanted one for her youngest. In comes big brother Pat. This is the result. Made from scrap pine, cherry and african cherry hardwood flooring. Carved with a Dremel and inked. Burned in the pic on the back. Wish I had a truckload of the african cherry. Pat

Also known as the "Board of Education" to those of us who grew up in a time when such things were done.

              Nice job, Pat!

                      I remember paddles....

but I was on the business "end" of them, tho.

They were referred to as "The Board of Education to the Seat of Knowledge."

I was never spanked with something that nice.
Beautiful craftsmanship on yours, though. Great detail!

Man, that looks nice. It'd almost be a privilege to be on the receiving end of something that looks that good.

That is beautiful!! But where are the little holes the woodshop teacher drilled in them to make them cut the air so they could swing them a little faster? Oh how I remember my aching polka-dot patooty....
