    Phase Three Completed

The custom built kitchen rolls on! This phase, the last of the wall cabinets, has been an "L"-shaped corner unit, a conventional tall storage cupboard and a cupboard built around an extractor unit. All units were painted by the client (as before) and installed on two pairs of French cleats (extractor cupboard on a single pair). The "L" corner unit was not symmetrical, also I had to hang the larger door off of the smaller one to match the opposite corner of the room.

Everything in MDF. All panels in 6mm (1/4") except for smaller corner unit door, which has a 12mm (1/2") panel to "beef it up" enough to take both its own hinges and the pie-cuts to swing the other door. The extractor vents through the cavity wall to the outside. A custom shelf inside gives storage in about 60% of the cabinet volume - 30% is taken up by the motor housing.

Looks great, Ray. How do you apply the finish (paint)?

As I said in the original post, the client paints the units - and she's VERY good at it!

The two-stage corner door is very clever. Looking good, Ray.
