    Mini Miter Sled

Occasonally I need to cut a small trim piece for a project. My miter sled had 2 problems. The height of the fence was sometimes a problem on small pieces and it requires removal of the fence. I came up with the Mini Miter Sled as a solution.

The original idea was to attach it the the SMT fence with a clamp, which explains the extra width and fence section. This was also my first experiment with using aluminim channel around the base to prevent any warping. The runners are UHMW and 2 strips of UHMW tape were added to the bottom to make it slide smoother.

that aluminum channel is a nifty idea. I built a tenoning jig from the plans here. I think I am going to revisit it and add both some aluminum channel and some tape to the bottom to make it easier to slide.

You're getting mighty fancy there with that aluminum trim.

Someone has even compared me to Rod! If there is a higher compliment on a jig, I don't know what it could be...
