i used a bunch of used old computer parts that i had laying around.
i think its an original small chip pentium 400 with 128 megs of ram.
no issues with cooling. i was thinking of using an exhaust fan, but it has
yet to get hot. it's been a fun project, and i am already starting to build
    another cabinet.

Pretty cool project! I have been thinking on building one for my kids ever since we added on to our home and included a 14x22 ft game room. We have a cheapo pool table and an air hockey table, an arcade type game would be awesome in there. I have a "couple" questions...

Did you have plans? If so where did you get them?
      What OS does it use?
What's the name of the games package and also what other games does it play?
Does it boot right into the games software?
How do you select the different games?

The website kind of shows how i did it. I basically built a box that would hold the widest component which is the monitor.I sketched what the cuts should look like with a marker and then used a router to cut away.
The other side was matched with a bearing router.
What OS does it use? windows xp
What's the name of the games package and also what other games does it play? i am running mame32
Does it boot right into the games software? yes
How do you select the different games? with a wireless keyboard and mouse

Michelevit - Is the joystick going to the joystick port? Buttons are they mapped through a keyboard or mouse?

How did you decide how many buttons? I checked out a few MAME sites and they make it seem very difficult.

I would just like a basic machine playing a few classic games such as packman. Did you use a 17inch monitor?

Thanks and you did a great job
            Thanks again,
            Mike

Looking good. I used to be a very regular poster here but I got bit by the arcade bug. Have a thread around this forum somewhere with my first cabinet. For all your arcade questions...

I am nostrebor on the byoac forum. Beware the incredible draw of arcade games! I now have 8 cabinets and 2 pinballs on the way...
After careful scrutiny of the quality of fellow members signature line comments, I have determined that it would be in my best interest to abstain from further attempts at wit.
