Last Saturday morning (2-18-06) my supervisor from work called and asked if I could build him a stand for his new tv. It had to be of oak, stained with his supplied stain and be finished buy this weekend. He even said he did not care what I charged!
His new house is finally finished and this weekend is move-in time.
He emailed me a link to a sony supplied stand; the one he bought with the tv, BTW, which turned out to be too large for the space he wnated to place his tv. http://www.abtelectronics.com/product/17298.html
His Stain is 1/2 red oak minwax and 1/2 some other shade that escapes me at this moment. This project took 1 sheet of 3/4" oak ply from the Borg, 2- 1"x6"x8' red oak boards, and 1- 1"x5"x10' red oak board. The two 8' boards were purchased at the Borg (I needed materials quick) and the 10' board came from my local lumber supplier (@ $4.09/ ln. ft.). Normally I purchase lumber for my projects in Spokane, WA but due to time constraints I could not afford the three hour one way drive.
Now for the pics: finish is above mentioned stain and three coats (so far) of water based poly.
