    motor removal of bt

    i am trying to remove the motor from my bt3000 to have the motor repaired and don't see how to disconect the elevator system. I am begining to wonder if i should just by a new saw. i hope i can put it all back together. any help would be appreciated.

    To remove the motor you do not need to disconnect or remove any of the elevating system, i.e. cranking mechanism, elevating shafts, gears, etc.... you will however need to remove the hex head bolt and washer that is screwed into the top of the threaded elevating shaft. This will allow your motor assy to be unscrewed off the shaft by turning the crank handle to the up position.
