    Aligning dual miter slots

    Hello,

I decided it was finally time to set up at least one of the dual miter slot sections I have on my saw Surprisingly, there seems to be relatively little discussion on the board about setting these up and aligning them.

For me, the first trick is going to be finding all the parts, or suitable substitutes after a couple moves, shop reorgs, etc.

After that, though... what tips n tricks do you guys have to share as far as aligning them with the blade? I'm thinking of something like using Lonnie's No-Measure alignment jig with a block in the slot to reference off of. Or do I need to get a little higher tech than that?

    TIA,

    Monte

I just dropped a block in one of the slots, then backed up a pair of small 30-degree drafting triangles up to it and set it against the blade. Lined it up and tightened the screws. It's even easier if you got one of those double-ruler parallel jigs.
