Thanks for the replies and the good messages. Over a dozen replies in 24hrs. It is great to see the forums so alive.

In answer to a few of the questions some of you have asked:

RCP612 - Yeah a trailer hitch....my Dad said the same thing when he saw it! It is certainly large enough.

Pelligrini - the fence on the right-hand side works pretty well. Its really a "work support" rather than a "jumbo sliding table". For most rips the bulk of the sheet (and the weight) is on the right-had side of the blade and I'm at the back of the sheet on the left-hand side pushing it through, so I support that side. It all works pretty well. I only need help lifting heavier sheets onto the table. My wife (sometimes willingly) helps me with that

Also the shopvac is hooked up to the saw. One of the photos shows the vacuum hose travelling behind the DP section into where the underside of the saw is. It is a dust collection "shelf" with the hose at the bottom. This "shelf" also has a couple of "drainpipes" for sweeping additional dust from above into teh collection area. Also there is a splitter on the hose with a 2m (6ft) extension that pulls out from the front and can be attached to the router table dust extraction "tube" above the table. Additionally all power goes through the shopvac for automatic starting of the vac.

Poolhound - staff discount. Yes.......not as much as I'm sure everybody would like. But my wife has put me on a "tool budget" for the new job. And she holds the veto power on large purchases!

Kevincan - I actually have to lift the DP up. I made the shelf pull-out on heavy duty rails to make it a bit easier. I also made sure it was a small DP weighing 30kg (under 60 pounds or so). As I'm comfortable lifting that much. I had to trim 100mm (4") off the shaft of the DP to make sure it would fit. It is handy knowing someone with an engineers metal lathe.
