    BT3000 motor removal

I am trying to remove the motor for repair and would appreciate some guidance in this respect. I have removed the shims and the drive belts. What should I do next?

    Motor Removal

I had to do the same thing last year. Sounds like you already have the blade side opened up. I started at the plug end and started removing screws on that side plate. After removing the side cover, you can see the rest of what needs to be done. The only tough time I had was getting the motor off the elevation screw (left side of motor). I had to cock it at an odd angle. I am sure if you do a search on this site, there is already info with clear directions and possibly even good pictures.

      Motor Removal

      Hello again,

I remembered a few things. The elevation screw to the left of the motor has another gear at the bottom. I forget what it is called. But I had to take a punch and remove the pin that holds the gear on the shaft. When the pin is removed, you can slide that small gear off and move the elevation shaft out the way. Then the motor should come out. Just reverse the procedure to reinstall.
I am a little surprised that more knowledgeable people haven't replied as of yet. Give them time.
      Hope this helps some.
