    BT3000 Dust Collection

I am rather new to this forum and have read a lot of the articles on "improvements" for the BT3000. I use a dust collector connected to the rear port but still get a lot of dust in and around the saw. I read the PDF articles by Jim Frye and Norm Havens and was curious whether there were any additional plans for dust collection that I missed. Some of these plans were dated in 2000. Does anyone have any other suggestions since that time?

Best bet is to build a shallow pan with its bottom sloped toward the back of the saw, where a second 2-1/2" DC port can be added. Connect the two ports with a "Y" and go from there to your DC. There are photos and threads scattered hereabouts that show what others have done. You should be able to find them using the search tool.

I think loring had a bunch of good photo examples of a bottom enclosure several months ago.

A modified guard with a dust port like a Shark guard will aid in collection too.
