Advantage of the BT 21829 Router Table

I have a nice, large router table, so even though I have a 2nd accessory table for my 21829 with a PC fixed base permanently mounted, it doesn't see much use.

Last night I needed to route dados approx 8" and 12" from the edge of some plywood. This is deeper than my table can handle in its normal setup. I could have removed the regular fence on my router table, turned it around and used a chunk of wood with clamps. I could have used an edge guide and hand-routed them, or...

This is one place where the Accessory table mounted router has a real advantage. Especially with the extra long 21829 rails, it is possible (and relatively easy) to route some quite deep dados.

No chance of the accessory table replacing my "real" router table in day to day use, but it is nice to have options.

I keep an inexpensive Sears Router on my Bt-3100 for just such occassions. Haven't used it a lot, but very handy for doing just as you described, when my standard router table just won't handle the width, etc.
