SMT Alignment - Does Lonnie's Jig still exist?

Well, my 21829's SMT went out of alignment. It was perfect when I bought it, all I had to do is tweak the fence a hair. Not sure how it went out, but suddenly my crosscuts were skewed by about 1/8" over a foot-long cut.

I am really struggling. For starters, I can't locate my manual. I've read the two articles related to alignment and several other posts. I finally get what the elliptical screws are doing. After a few hours, I have been able to get the table square and without side-to-side slop. Unfortunately, just not at the same time!

There are several references to a "Lonnie's Alignment Jig" but all the links are broken. Does anyone have access to the plans?

    Thanks!

Thanks for your interest. The simple alignment method has served me well for years.

I'll copy my original post to this forum later today.

There are several methods listed in the old articles section.

Downloadable copy of the BT3000 manual which should be perfect for what you need.

          1. use the right rear screw to set alignment.
          2. make sure you apply presure to the left so that both the right side glides are in firm contact with the miter base.
          3. use the left rear to take up slop.
          4. use the front left to take up slop.
          5. right front is no-eccentric and should not be touched.
          6. you may find that with just the perfect tension on the nuts that you will be able to turn them with a nut driver to adjust the eccentric screws. This works for me YMMV.

That might be the issue. I'll give it a try.

Sadly, I have not yet succumbed to that impulse purchase yet...

I've been using the "Screw in a board" technique

              Thanks anyway.

                dkerfoot:

Here's the link to the "2007" No-Measure Alignment method.

Yep, a screw or nail in a board works just fine!
