BT Extention Table Switch??

Am going to purchase dumpriest extention table for left of blade on my saw... if a BT 3100 (his) will fit on my BT 3000 (mine)? Would appreciate anyone that has the answer to that question to reply.

To the best of my knowledge, the Tables and several other parts are interchangeable between the two models.

Thanks for the rapid reply, gmack! I suspect you are right as they appear to be from what I saw of the BT 3100 on a few passing occasions at HD. I just wondered if anyone had replaced one with the other to confirm and maybe not.

If that is the case... I will take the gamble based on your and my suspicions. Win or lose it won't be the worse financial gamble I've taken in life by a long shot. ha.. ha...

I have BOTH sets of Tables, BT3000 and BT3100, and routinely swap them back and forth, without a problem.

Sarge, if the extension table fits between the rails there will be no problem. The rail profiles and the case dimensions of the BT3100 and BT3000 are the same.

If it's something that attaches to the base, that's could be a different story. The stands are a bit different.

Thanks again George and the second by JR. I keep a dedicated 24 T rip blade on the BT as a SCMS with a 60 T has taken most of the cross-cut duty. And I do a lot of ripping. The 24 T is also suitable for tenon cutting also which I do a lot of.

I just wanted to place the extention left of blade to eliminate the slider. With the mitre taken off and table locked, it works fine but I find myself becoming annoyed at working around the slider extention that sticks out front. Without it I feel that proper foot and body balance can be maintained "keeping the lane clear" without any un-natural bending to do so with it in my way.

Sarge, just take the slider off and turn it around and put it back on...

Sarge, you need to do what I did....eliminate the stock supplied switch,
I bought one from Porter-Cable/ DeWalt...wired it to the saw and mounted it underneath the left rail of my saw...like it a whole lot better up there and
a lot easier to get to if needed! Eezlock

Just caught your post EZ... I'm at work till 10 PM and caught up on forum in a slow moment (and we don't have many.. ha...). Reversing the slide would be the simple fix....... but I have a built on permanent MDF extention on the rear and right side that won't allow without removing and I need it for the large amount of ripping I do.

But I will take the suggestion on the switch and I wasn't aware of that problem till I read in another post. Never had a problem... yet. I have often thougth of putting a panic strap on the existing that would extend over to the left side on which I stand out of the "lane". If I replaced switchs I would probably just mount left and re-wire to it as I am known to tinker.. :>)

Sarge, the reason I replaced mine was I simply did not like the location
where it was...I don't like having to reach down under the saw to turn it
on and off...I like mine where I want It!..not where they want to put it!

And I agree wholeheartily EZ. That's why I'm a tinkerer. I probably don't have a machine that I haven't modified in some way or added someting I felt should be there.

That is with the exception of my new Silver City 18" BS. The SC boys seem to have been thinking before the box got opened. I did have to saw the bottom 1 1/2" off the height bar guide to see the top set of roller bearing clearly while running. But that has to be done on virtually every BS as safety rules for exporting require it in a lot of countries. That includes the heavy weights as Mini-Max.. Aggazani.. etc.

Have you seen the Large Stop switch on the General TS. It would be almost impossible for even a legally blind person to miss the big bulls-eye on it. And those switches available with a magnetic mount fit the bill that you mentioned about anywhere you want it.
