      You can also get featherboards like the one pictured from Rockler:


      You just slide the smt over till there's a 3/4" space between it and the main table. Insert the featerboard, and tighten the knobs to hold the FB in place.

        What an info payoff for renewing this old thread! I have one of those Rockler featherboards and couldn't figure out any easy way to use it.
