Tired of hearing about it yet?

I know we're probably running this to death.
I was in a local HD here in Edmonton last night and noticed they had only the display model of the BT3100 left.
When I asked the clerk, she checked and told me they have (4) on order all expected within the next 2 weeks. Maybe HD Canada will keep selling them if Ryobi keeps making them.

She also comfirmed that HD Canada never puts discontinued major items on "clearance" unless they are missing parts or damaged.
Being that the display is still the older 3100 with the black switch, I was thinking I could arrange that by dropping something heavy on it as I walk by.

We canadians can only hope that the price will begin to reflect the US exchange rate soon. At $399 it is not such a great deal anymore when the exchange is only 12-15%. Seemed like a great deal when I bought mine, exchange was 60%.

When I bought mine last week, I had the clerk check the status of the BT-3100 in their system. If it is "Active" then that means they can get them from wherehouse. If it isn't "Active", that means the wherehouse is on backorder. Last week they were "Active" and the store here had sold two previous to mine within the past few days. I took the last one in a box and they have four more on order.

Let's not forget that even if HD drops BT3, Sears Canada still has their upgraded version of BT3!!! (It does have some nice features)

Canadian pricing? Now that's a whole different story!!!!

At $599 on sale it's still cheaper than I paid by the time I ordered the BT3-KIT
And the accessory table is much nicer on the Sears unit.

I just got my BT3100 from HD. Had to go to both of the ones close to me, as the first one I went to had the display model only. The second had a floor model and two new-stock. I got one of the new stock for the $250 (US) deal. Plus I can mail in for a $30 HD giftcard, since I bought more than $150 of Ryobi product there before the end of May.

          I am pretty jazzed.

The HD I went to in Pittsburgh had the BT3100 yellow tagged as well.

The Ryobi 2006 tool catalog does not have the BT3100 in it.

I also called Ryobi directly and the lady at customer service said she hasn't heard of them discontinuing it. She also checked the computer and it didn't mention anything. Whatever Ryobi/HD have in store (no pun intended), they seem to be keeping it a seceret.
