After not loggin in for some time I logged in to find dicsussions mentioning the discontinuation of the 3100. Is this true? What is replacing it and when will this be available? Any review of the new tool?
That's the big question - its apparent that the BORG is phsing them out of the stores, but some are still available depending on your area. As to a replacement, things are very fuzzy. TTI is still pushing the lower end machines (BTS 10/15/20) but no certain word on a 32XX type of machine. Most are in a wait and see mode.

If I were to hazzard a guess, I'd say that you may be seeing a version that resembles the newer Craftsman model soon.
The tables are a little different and has a mobile base.
Just a WAG, mind you.
Originally, the BT stands were the straight legged type. Craftsman clones had a stand much more similar to the 3100's rather than the 3000's.
I persinally have issues with the ribbed surface. Very hard to keep clean. I think the smooth surface will make a much nocer saw, short of cast iron.
I reckon we'll wait and see.
Yesterday, I got my Craftsman club ad, and the new Craftsman BT is $399 with the discount. That is the cheapest I have seen it, makes me wonder if they know about new competition.
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.
