    Sears/Craftsman Version

    Is the Sears/Craftsman version of the BT 3100 any good or worth looking at? It's going on sale here and wondering if I should consider it. (Not sure of the price yet.)

    There's been quite a bit of discussion here about the Sears version, the mobility factor, included miter slot table (for router only), etc. You might want to do a search with the search term "3200".

    Also, more specifically see the following thread:

      It's made by Ryobi and is identical in many aspects, slightly different in a few others.

        Looked at it today and it seems to come with a few more accessories....however don't think it's worth the price. It's on sale here for $598 Cdn down from original $899!!!. When you can get the BT 3100 at HD for $399 Cdn, it's right out of the running.

        Thanks for the link to the other thread.

          Actually you can get the BT3100 for $250 or less they are clearing them out so it is the time to grab one.

          Opps just reread that and see you meant $399 Canadian.

            I have a 3100 and accessory kit (before I discovered opinions listed here).
            The Sears model does have some nice features, including the miter slots on accessory table and I particularly like the power switch on the rail.
            By the time I bought the accessory kit I paid more than $598 CDN.
            I didn't know at the time that Sears had that model at that price frequently.
            I were you, I would keep a close eye on the HD price, especially since you are "on the rock" and can't just drive to 4-5 different HD stores if one doesn't have any left.
            As I've mentioned many times here though, HD Canada rarely discounts anything, even discontinued items.

              Thanks folks;

              Actually, $250 US is about $290 Cdn. Hmmmmm. At $399, still a good deal. From what I've heard on this forum, the accessory kit is not that highly regarded. So, would the the extra $200 Cdn be worth the money for the Sears model, or for another $100, go for the Ridgid 3650? I don't know.

              According to HD here, the BT 3100 is still on "Active" status, which means they can still order them in and expect to get them.
