    Have a Laugh on me

Well, finally spent some time in the garage yesterday to set up my router to the router spot on my BT3100.....

Now, I've never used a router and I never had a TS till I bought the BT3100 a few months ago......

So, I slowly work my way through all the cutting of a template, lining up of holes, getting long bolts, making those holes in the table top, etc. Nervous work for a newbie but I did it.

So, I have the router mounted on the router table and it's sitting on my work bench. Time to put it on the rails.......

As I go to pick it up, something looks wrong????

Yup, I put it on upside down (router on top of the table, not below)!!

Piece of cake to reverse it, but I had to laugh at myself!

    Dave,

At least it was real easy to access the switch and depth control!

That also makes dust collection a little easier.

Not to mention your setup is a lot safer, as there is no spinning bit protruding above the table!

Makes it hard to control the router when free handing it.
All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes, to make it possible

Yes, but it makes those safety glasses absolutely essential when using it that way, as the cuttings keep falling into your eyes!

Isn't it nice to have enough confidence in your abilities that you can share the laugh with others.

            Thanks,

I could beat that, but I don't have time to list all the things I've done in the shop that made me laugh at myself. Let's not get into the other uh-oh's that bred expletives!
Yours is a good one, tho. :-D

Bugsy~ Now that is something I can relate to. I'm sure before I die, the guys here will have plenty of opportunities to laugh at me, but that's ok, I'd rather have them laughing "with" me than having them mad at me.(although that may change lol) I just haven't had the time to set up my brand new BT3100-1 yet, which is still in the box in my garage. When I do however, I am going to have about 10 gazillibon questions for these poor folks. Then we'll see who will be laughed at. Like you, I'm a little nervous of setting the thing up, but, I'll have to bite the bullit soon, as the weather is getting nicer.

When the nearest menards store sold the BT3, thay displayed it that way.

Now the surprising thing about this, is not that they put the router on wrong, but the had any idea what the round hole on the 'thingy on the side' was actually for!
