Dreaded Shim Replacement

Well, the original shims on my BT3000 finally gave up the ghost. I have replacement shims--the BT3100 spring kind--and the necessary replacement shim cover. However, I have moved since I printed out the excellent shim replacement directions (with photos) that were posted on the forum a while back, and I can't find them anywhere.

Does some kind soul have a link to the instructions that they would send to me? I would greatly appreciate it.

I think I was the first person to convert to the BT3100 shim system on a BT3000. Like a dummy I didn't take pictures.

It is easy the flat shims go in the same plase as they were on the BT3000 the spring shims replace the other ones.

I used a small Irwin Quick Clamp the seat the guide holder onto the bearing befor trying to run the screws in

While you have it torn apart take a look at your belts, better to do it now if they need replaced.
