    Mounting options for miter slot table

    I have been working with my new BT3100 for a few months now, and plan on a lot more work with warmer weather coming. I have found it difficult to keep the miter slot table secure at the rear when mounted with the two supplied screws. I would like to make a custom table insert for the left side of the saw, and move the miter slot table to the right side. Anyone have experience with this mounting and how did you accomplish the right side mounting? I have seen a kit advertised on ebay, but it seems a bit pricey for a few shims and screws.

      If you're refering to the kit offered by KomaToast, I can recommend it. It may be more expensive than the sum of the parts, but it works and his directions are good.

              You should also consider building Rod Kirby's miter slot. It's a fun, easy project and works really well.

                  I haven't tried Rod Kirby's method, but count me in as an endorsement for Komatoast's products. And as mentioned above, his instructions are outstanding.

                      I've already ordered the miter slot for Rod's extension table project. Next warm days will be spent having fun building the table.
