    Not directly to the miter fence, no. But to various aux fences, miter sleds, etc - sure.

      Yep, that's a time-honored tradition -- just as true here as for any saw's miter fence.

      But, when it really matters, like for off-perpendicular cuts especially (where the forces tend to slide the stock along the fence), you can't beat a stop block and/or miter clamp.

        Never thought of it that way. Perhaps that will make the SMT a little more useful at my house.
