    What a job!!

I decided to revamp my 10 year old Bt3000. Typical problems, hard elevating, didn't always lock and tilted when raising the blade, etc. Looked up the new shims and the new guide holder from Ordertree and then called them. Three weeks to get the parts. Decided to check Ebay and found the following: all the internal Bt3100 parts for $39.95 plus shipping. Decided not to install the locker bracket, just a big aluminum casting, but used all the other new parts. Bruised knuckles, skinned fingers, etc. Driving out roll pins and replacing them is a real job. Need at least three hands. Four hours later, all back together. Lubed all the parts with candle wax and works smooth as silk.
