    Jorgensen Parallel Clamps

I've made do for years with HF cheap F clamps, being unable and/or unwilling to pay the price for decent Bessey or Jorgensen parallel clamps.

I lucked across an eBay storefront, Cripe Distributing, that has Home Depot close-outs of 3 sizes of Jorgensen Cabinet Master parallel clamps.

    The 24" are $20, 36" are $24 and 48" are $25.

Cripe is located in Boise Idaho, so shipping may be an issue, but for me, even with the shipping the clamps are a bargin.
For example, I ordered 4 48" and 4 36" clamps, shipping weight was 72 lbs., and shipping was $50 to South Carolina.

The clamps are new, still have the HD stickers and Jorgensen tags, all arrived in excellent condition.

I hope this will be useful to some of you folks.

These do look like some great clamps.
      Priced right too.
I was fortunate enough to be able to get a bunch of Bessey's when HD was closing those out years ago.
I still haven't wore those out.

        I have 3 of the 36" cabinet clamps - they're great.

I also have 5 or so of the heavy duty f style clamps ---- which are fairly good.

When Assembling mortise/tenon furniture - the parallel clamps are the ticket to ride. F clamps do not apply parallel force - so it's hard to get everything put together snugly.

Ollie's Bargain Outlet had those clamps not long ago. There's one in Anderson SC if you want to check locally.

Good find, S&H for me was over 90% of the clamp price!

Those are some great prices. I've got some 48" Bessy and Jet clamps and would love to pick up some 24".

Not to derail the thread, but does anyone have any experience with how these might compare with Irwin parallet clamps? They are $25 with free shipping right now:

              Thanks.

Yep, shipping for 1 clamp is $12.50, each additional is $7. You need to order 4
+ to get the overall shipping reasonable.

                  Thanks.
Other than on the Rockler reviews I haven't read much positive about the Irwins.

I have a set of these light duty Besseys for small items. They are real good for small drawers and boxes. (Amazon has more coming soon)

I tried the the shopping cart feature on Ebay and still found the shipping to be a bit much.

                    4 HD Jorgensen 36" bar clamps $50 + $30 shipping from Cripe
                    same from Amazon $75.88 shipped.

                    4 48" Cabinet Master $138 from Cripe
                    same from Amazon $179

I guess you really have to be buying a lot more clamps to make it worthwhile or different clamps. Still a good find for some folks. Shipping to this coast makes it prohibitive.

Thanks for the heads up. Ordered 2 of each using paypal. The next day I got a message from paypal that the seller even gave me back $10.00 for shipping costs.

                      Thanks again,
