It seems that the offer is back on (11:30 PM EDT, Aug. 6) as I just ordered a 4 year gift for my friend in Wisconsin. It showed up as an advertisement on CBC.ca!!!

You may want to try your luck!

Odd that it was one price, $11.97 until I checked out with PayPal and it went up to almost $17.00.

I ordered anyway, but it's kind of sneaky to add shipping in to a magazine order.

There was no shipping for me. Ordered 3 years for $11.97 total. Did you add those "free" headphones? If you did, then you had to pay for shipping on those.

                  Thanks duncsuss.

Thanks duncsuss for the head up on this. My Wood subscription was due to run out in an issue or two so the timing was great for me. I usually only order mags directly through the publisher due to a deal I got ripped off at Mags For Less a few years ago but this offer was too good to pass up so I went for the full four years. Now, I only hope this isn't another third party scam.

I'm glad so many people have been able to take advantage of this offer.

What elevates it beyond the mere "bargain" to the level of "sublime" is the fact that every issue of Wood for the last couple of years (at least) has included a 20% HarborFreight coupon ... which Home Depot honor ...

I'm glad yours honors them but at mine they just laughed at me when I asked.

I have ordered several multi-year magazine subscriptions through them and never had any issues.

Missed the posted deal? Still can easily get 3yrs for $28

I somehow missed this deal. I tried to call WOOD customer service directly and see if I could still get it, but no luck - the lady told me that must have been specifically for a discount renewal service, and that WOOD did not directly offer that. So, I hung up and recalled them. The lady asked how she could help and I told her I wanted to renew for 3yrs at $28, and to please bill me. Also, I actually added another 3yr subscription gift for my father also - same price. Done.

I did the deal, and before I even have the first issue, I received a renewal/subscription thing from Wood, for 3 years and two bonus items for the price of one.

                                I sent them this:

I recently subscribed to your magazine, via one of those magazine deal
sites (four years worth). I haven't even received my first magazine
yet, and already received an offer (subscription/renewal) which seems to
have been a common complaint, I have seen on woodworking sites. The
offer I received would make my subscription 7 years (1 year plus 2
free). Is there a limit as to how far out one can have a subscription?

and received this, today, several days later (would have though email was quicker)

                                Dear Subscriber:

There is a limit on the number of years you can request, and your
subscription is at the limit at this time.

We find that most of our subscribers prefer to receive multiple
reminders that their subscription is soon to expire. These reminders
give our subscribers several opportunities to renew their subscription
                                before it expires.

We have temporarily stopped renewal notices from being sent to you. We
                                hope that this is satisfactory.

So expect the "early notices" guys. Maybe I should have just added the three years.
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.
