    55g Steel Drums

If you are in the area, this CL post indicates 55g steel drums for $15. Might be useful for some of you who want to build a Thien separator.

Some of my solvents and glues come in 55 gallon drums. If there is an interest for them, local cabinet shops discard them when empty and you could likely get them for free. All you have to do is ask.

That's a good point C-man, I had a hard time finding them when I needed one. I ended up with a 30g metal can which worked even better for me. Good info to add, thanks.

55 gallon barrels also make a great UDS (Ugly Drum Smoker). Not much money to get one up & going either. They aren't as labor intensive to maintain while cooking as most smokers are; more like "set it & forget it". A lot of competition cookers use them. Just finished one for my backyard arsenal.
