Porter Cable Framing Nailer - $119

    Home Depot thanksgiving special. http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/...&Ntpc=1&Ntpr=1

In store and online pricing for both clipped head and full head nails. Models FR350A and FC350A I was doing some framing and looking for this gun. So tempting!! Normal pricing is around $179.

That's tempting. Absolutely no use for it now, but my BIL wants to build himself a shed at some point.
I have a little blog about my shop

Wait until the day after Christmas. I'll bet the price goes even lower.

That is tempting... The 30 degree nailer is only $79. Is there any real difference between the 21 degree and the 30 degree nailers?

          Thanks

            BigguyZ,

I have no basis for my answer other than my own deductive reasoning. But I have to think the 30 degrees was developed to get into tighter spots. However, I'm not sure about its popularity as most framing nailers I see are 21 degrees. With that said, I would also factor in the availability of 30 degrees collated nails in my area if I'm choosing between the two. Just my humble opinion.

The 30° nailer shoots clipped headed nails while the 21° shoots round headed nails. The clipped headed nails are not allowed to be used in some places so it's good to check out the local codes before buying.

I don't know how much lower they can go. Any lower and they'd be giving them away.

21 degree are full head. Most of the time, 28 degree are clipped, but Paslode makes a full head 30 degree.

I have the version that shoots clipped or full head nails. I got it about 2 years ago when I was starting to frame my basement. I've shot just over a box of nails with it and not a single misfire. Give it about 3 drops of oil before starting a session and about 90psi and life is good. I don't know if it would be up to commercial duty, but for the money, it's a very good gun.

At $79, it would be very hard to go wrong.
