    Irwin Clamp set

    A rant and a recommendation ----

I was just about ready to buy an Irwin 8 piece clamp set at Home Depot - when my wife reminded me that I had a gift certificate from Lowes - and that they had the same Irwin clamp set on sale, there.......

So - we went to Lowes - and lo and behold --- it's a 6 piece clamp set - and it's 3 dollars more than HD ---- AND the clamps are all 6 inches.

The HD offer is an 8 piece set -
    - 2 6 inch clamps
    - 2 12 inch clamps
    - 2 handi clamps
    - 2 spring clamps

My vote next time --- Home Depot......

The Home Depot by me is usually cheaper on generic stuff that they both sell. Lowes has more home design stuff - a larger selection and nicer pieces.

I picked up that 8pc HD set earlier this summer. I seem to remember two 2packs of 6" quick grips being more than the 8pc set.

If it is a gift certificate you can go to customer service and return the gift certificate for cash, then go to HD and purchase the set there.
