    Rockler....

Rockler sent me an add --

Porter Cable random orbit sander --- $39
Porter Cable Belt Sander ------ $79

I was exicted for a couple of minutes.

Then - with a couple of clicks - realized - that these are normal every-day prices (just not for Rockler) --- for re-manufactured tools.

Yup, one should always do their research homework before buying any tool. Many times that so called deal isn't!

I do like Rockler and manage to save enough to make a few purchases during the year. But, like with too many companies you've got to watch their prices (and some of thier "limited time/qty" offers, especially). Overall though, they're a pretty decent company though.

I have more of a problem with Amazon pricing. I don't buy any tools there, but with two grandson's we often get referred to Amazon by our son, who is a regular (and enthusiastic) Amazon customer. Personally, I've found their pricing ridiculously overpriced on some of the "kid-gifts" that we've shopped for.... many times finding that they are $40 or more than buying an item at a local retailer.

"Let the buyer beware" is always a good rule, regardless of company.
