    Home Depot 20% off coupons

I have never seen anything advertised about their 20% coupons. How can you get one? thanks.

Home Depot doesn't generally issue 20% coupons. They had them a few years ago for their "Friends and Family" night, but that was the last time they had them. Their standard issue coupon is 10%.

There are some counterfeit 20% ones out there, though....

most of the people out there selling these things will try to sell you a fake 20% lowes coupon and tell you to go to HD and have them allow you to use it...don't fall for it...it won't work...if you're going to do that, might as well try an authentic 20% off HF coupon...even still, that's still up to the tools manager to say yes or no...most likely no...

some HDs honor the harbor freight 20% off any single item coupons. and in one instance, when i was buying an R4511 TS, and a store refused to honor one such coupon, my call to HD corporate while i was in the store got HD corporate to instruct the store personnel to honor said coupon. YMMV.

A while back, HD had a pair of Dewalt 12" saw blades on sale for a good deal.

I grabbed a pack for my HF 12" SCMS.

I stopped by the courtesy desk with the item and a 20% off HF coupon. I asked the person at the service desk if I could use a competitor's coupon. They looked over the coupon (taken from a magazine and glossy printed on both sides) and said no problem.

I'd assume they might have more issues with a computer printed coupon on plain paper but the liked the authentic coupon.

The were also kind enough to ring me up right there.

It was a quiet time at the store, I was polite and non-confrontational, and I waited patiently for their reply.

            YMMV

Same story in our HD -- wouldn't take a printout from the HarborFreight email, but accepted a coupon clipped from a copy of Wood magazine they had on display.

The first person said he thought they were online only, but his co-worker confirmed there is a HF store within driving distance.

I knew it was too good to be true. I thought there were going to be Home Depot coupons posted here.

Any idea if the HB coupons will work on lawn mower purchases at Home Depot (since a lawn mower is not a tool)? If so, which magazines carry the HB coupons? ...or can you get them in-store.

                Thanks.

HF coupons are in wood magazine and i've seen them in the afmily handyman. stop by the peridicals section of the books and mags racks @ HD. you'll find a coupon in the back of one of those mags. as to lawn mowers, i'd keep tryinig @ different HDs until i found one that would accept the coupon. when it comes to saving money, "no" isn't my favorite word.

I agree with what is stated above, but want to add these 2 comments.

1.) I would bring the item up, check out at customer service, and be willing to walk away. I think sometimes if they are "on the bubble", they might be willing to give you the discount rather then deal with a cart of stuff to be put back.

2.) In this case, as in many thing in life the old phrase "You catch more flies with honey then vinegar" applies. I used it to buy my Ridgid tabel saw, and when i asked was very courteous and friendly. I think if you come across too harsh they are more apt to send you out the door.

Those are the current website discounts. They technically aren't coupons, and they are usually not available in the stores (HD's website and stores have different pricing).

Because if you want Home Depot to honor it as "a competitor's coupon", it must be from a magazine or flyer, not something you printed out yourself (according to the customer service manager at my nearest Home Depot.)
