Amazon has a 6 Inch LCD Digital Caliper with Extra Battery and Case for only $11.25. Gets good reviews.

Amazon is a little "sneaky" about their reviews, and makes it hard to find the more objective or less positive reviews.

From the reviews for this item:
"A piece of junk. "

Normally we could dismiss this as a few difficult people, but when more than 22% of the reviews are negative, that often means it's a product issue.
